HCA 300 is an introductory course designed familiarize students with Canadian academic culture in the context of health care assistance. The course focuses on learning about academic conventions, upholding academic integrity, effective oral and written communication skills, reflective practices and observation. Throughout the course students will learn and apply strategies for active listening, analytical reading, delivering effective presentations and writing and speaking clearly and cohesively. Students are expected to actively participate in course discussions and activities and work both individually and collaboratively on group projects and presentations.
